After a tough day at work and a tiring hour at the gym, I walked in my front door yesterday evening so glad to be home. Then I looked around and I had an epiphany...
I am a complete slob!
I mentioned in my last post that the hubster is out of town. Well, it seems that I have decided to use this as an excuse to turn my condo into one that looks as if it’s inhabited by a 13-year-old boy (not to foster gender stereotypes or anything).
Here’s a list of things you’d find if you were to come to my place right now:
An empty pizza box that’s been on the kitchen counter since Monday, maybe Sunday. Can’t remember
A sink full of dishes.
Pants, tops, socks, panties and sweaty gym clothes lying on the floor next to the hamper because it was so hard to lift the lid and put them in the hamper.
Gifts that need to be wrapped.
Bags, shoes and coats that need to be put in a closet.
A bed that hasn’t been made since Saturday (when my husband made it before he left town).
I know I should be ashamed, but I’m not. My home doesn’t normally look like this and I don’t even really mind cleaning all that much. But when I’m busy, as I have been this week, something is always neglected. Usually it’s “me time” but this week, since I’m living as a bachelorette, it’s cleaning that’s getting pushed to the bottom of my to-do list.
I’m having a party at my house Saturday so I’ll have this all cleaned up by then. But until that time pizza boxes, dirty dishes and I will peacefully coexist.
