I have a great blog to polish up about why other people’s problems are not your problems, (aka selfish for good 101) but no one wants to hear that today, right? You wanna know about Tiara Tuesday dinner!
Does the picture begin to tell you what a great time we had? It’s true, I joined the Augusta crew, Nik (Tiburon), Angelia, and Heather in the pre-dinner coffee course and learned more about the world of skirt! Then we meandered over to Cheesecake Factory where they hid the front door for many of us. Bastards!
Merci had lurked around the bookstore and was waiting patiently for us. We got seated, ordered appetizers, if you can believe it, we talked. Before long (for us, I think the waiter was kinda wonderin’ what was up) Cheryl texted that she was on her way to meet us. We called to virtually have Sarah our Queen with us via speaker phone which didn’t work as well as we’d like so we played good ol’ fashion “Pass the phone”. She was getting sleepy but wasn’t nauseus which, we hope, is a good sign. The ick this time is the lasttime so we’re all thankful for that. We raised our glasses to her. <3
Cheryl and the waiter got all hot and bothered. (Okay, the waiter spilled hot sauce all over himself and Cheryl. He was more concerned about his $45 tie. We contemplated meeting him out back and showing him what skirt!s can do.) Pizza, salad, whatever that was Nik had (Nik, what was that Asian concoction?) coffee, the obligatory cheesecake (white chocolate raspberry) pictures and video captured and then hugs all around.
Poor Factory workers. They just wanted to go home but somehow the well of conversation never ran dry. There were still 2 other women in the restaurant when we left so we weren’t the last ones.
It was just a great night. We wish Sarah could have been with us. Tara, we hope your car is okay. Pamela and Elizabeth and Maribeth and Amy and Christine and Kim and Charlene and (insert the myriad of other names here)....you shoulda been there in more than spirit and topic of conversation.
I told everyone present last night that a friend of mine told me I needed to write for skirt! when she saw it and I told her I’d love to, but the way it was being done wasn’t right for me at the time. I feel great about my role here at this time and am so glad/proud/excited to be a skirt!
Enjoy!
