Black Eye for Black Friday

Monday, December, 1, 2008

I thought I would try to escape the news for a couple of days. Thanksgiving traveling between the 2 families went smoothly and I wanted to stay with the peaceful thankful feeling that kinda of embraced me. Thanksgiving was the 11th anniversary of my best friend, David’s passing and  I got an email the next morning that read:

From: David

RE: If you can see it, you can achieve it.   Now I know it wasn’t  from David (or was it?) but I took it as a sign that if I see my future in living color, I can achieve it. I had just received an email from his niece who said they were having a seance to see if David would come and talk to them. So David has been busy.

And it seems that the news has been working overtime.  Walter came in on Friday morning and said an employee of Wal-Mart had been trampled while people were trying to get in at the 5 AM opening. I asked if he was okay. “No”, Walter said, “He was killed by the stampede. All I want for Christmas is an sane world to live in.

Later on I hear that 2 men shoot each other in a Toy R Us in CA. Because the women they were with got into a fight. What a way to end a fight – shoot to kill and be shot and killed. Happy Holidays!

First of all, you don’t go shoving and pushing with 2000 people pressing on a couple of glass doors. Flat screens TVs may be 1/2 price, but you fools cut this man’s life in half.  And then I heard that people were actually pissed off  because they closed the store down for a few hours. Are you  human beings or just something that crawled out of the earth and you don’t know the rules about civilized behavior?  The police were looking at pictures from someone who had the time to snap a few with their camera while this man, who was described being easy going, helpful and had a love of  poetry was being trampled to death. But what’s the value of a man’s life if you can get “Rush Hour 2” for $2.00. You people make me sick Wal-Mart makes me sick.

If you are selling something for 1/2 price that most people can’t afford (and shouldn’t be buying anyway) and only have those prices for the flat screen TVs between 5 AM to11 AM, then those low lives who killed a young man who was just going his job, trampled the wrong person.

I hope those people who collectively killed Jdimytytai Damour  have nightmares of not being able to breath while crying out for their mothers because no one will stop to help you. And may you wake up knowing that sleep will no longer offer you comfort.

If someone can explain what happened in the Toys R Us, please do. I can only imagine that these 2 deceased men must be holding their heads and going, “I guess we won’t be home for Christmas.” You really messed up big time.

I am sickened by what happened at the Toys R Us. The fact that they had guns on their person while shopping at a TOY store and then proceeded to SHOOT each other in the presence of children and adults baffles me. I'm told the women continued to yell at each other about revenge as they were shoved into cop cars - with their dead partners still warm. I don't get it. Please tell me these are isolated cases??

and those were the standouts that couldn't be avoided. Much to my friends' shock, I am slowly and surely turning against my long standing religion: consumerism. I, of the "They're marked down by $200. . .it's a bargain! Let's get them!" when they still cost. . .err, considerably more than I should be paying. Between the murderous attitudes and the prices I saw in the baby store the other day. . .I could throw up. And the thing is. . .what makes these people so desperate to have what the stores are selling? I can't even think about it. I can't even THINK (which is why I haven't been writing. LOL.) Ugh. . .Happy Holidays.

This is why I don't watch the news. It makes me embarrassed to be the same species as the people who trampled the Wal-Mart employee and the men who shot each other. Is it too hoity-toity of me to think of myself as higher evolved than them? And congrats on being the Muse!
